Make your home smell like Christmas!

Make your home smell like Christmas this holiday season. There are many scents that trigger the memories of Christmas, so why not make your home smell like Christmas all season long!

One way you can bring up Christmas aromas this time of year is to slowly simmer dry whole spices, like cinnamon sticks. Here is a Holiday Recipe! All you need is your pick of dry whole spices like cinnamon sticks, whole nutmeg berries, cloves, rosemary, pine needles. Add to a pot with water and a little oil such as jojoba (which you can find at your local Trader Joes), bring to a simmer on a stove top and cozy up with a warm blanket...

While you make your home smell like Christmas why not also add a few custom decorations! Click HERE to see what we could help you add to your holiday decor.

Fall in Love

Planning a fall wedding? Here are some great tips sure to make your wedding a success!

Availability - During fall months, some brides consider having their wedding on Fridays or even Sundays to cut back on costs. However, the fall season is a start to many things like, football, school is starting to get in full swing and school activities. So, just remember this when planning your wedding.
Weather - Fall is such a beautiful time for an outdoor wedding and you aren't have to worry too much about spring showers, hurricanes or extreme heat. However, there are a few weather problems that can arise to keep in mind, like the drastic changes in weather. It can be warmer during the day, but drop a few degrees at night. So, just remember to keep guests updated on if a jacket is in order. Plus, you could also have blankets, which would make a great wedding favor, or space heaters at your wedding just in case.
Play with Fall Color - Fall features some very beautiful colors. Try incorporating them into your wedding. There are beautiful oranges, reds and even browns. You can use them as your main wedding colors, or slightly incorporate them into your wedding bouquet, reception centerpieces or your wedding invitations.
In-Season Wedding Flowers - Unless you have your heart set on a flower you've wanted to incorporate into your wedding since you were a little girl, try and keep it in season. In season flowers may be a little bit friendlier on your budget, and there are some absolute gorgeous flowers to choose from. Dahlias, roses, zinnias and sunflowers all are exquisite and will make a remarkable bouquet.

DIY Outdoor Games

Jumbo Jenga

Take one of the classics outdoors. Inspired by the table-top game, Jumbo Jenga is comprised of 54 blocks stacked in three columns and challenges guests to remove a block without knocking over the whole tower. There is a major difference between this version of the game and the original version--the blocks are about ten times bigger! The primary thing you need to create outdoor Jenga is 2x4's. you will need to gather enough wood for 54 pieces that will then be cut into approximately 10 ½ inch long game pieces. Once cut, you may also want to sand the pieces down a bit to make them smoother. Then, stack them outside and let guests play!

Twister

Right leg, blue! Make your own twister board on your lawn! To design it you will need four different colors of spray paint. The original game uses red, blue, yellow and green, but feel free to use whatever colors you want. You will make four columns (one for each color) and six circles of each color. Once your design is finished, you should have 24 circles. If you have extra time you can create your own spin board like the one in the original game that will be used to call out directions. However, a cheaper and just as effective alternative is to write different moves like "right hand, red" on a slip of paper and put them into a jar. Then, you or someone else can draw a slip and call out the instructions as indicated on the sheets.

Gender Reveal Party

Having a Gender Reveal Party for your friends and family is becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason! Revealing the gender of your baby is a wonderful moment in life to celebrate and remember forever! If you're unfamiliar with the concept of a Gender Reveal Party, it is simply a party where everyone finds out the sex of an unborn child at the same time.

The Balloon Reveal is one of the most popular choices for revealing the gender of your child. If you want to find out the sex of the baby at the same time as your guests ask the ultrasound technician to write down the gender of the baby and seal it in an envelope. You can then take that sealed envelope to your local balloon vendor an ask them to fill an empty box with the color of balloons that corresponds with the gender in the envelope. Have them place the balloons and envelope inside the box and seal it up tight. Then, during your party you can open the box for a wonderful surprise!

Gender reveal poppers or other confetti based reveals are also a fun surprise! Just make sure you have a broom or vacuum handy for easy clean up.

Food reveals are a fun and delicious way to announce the gender at your Gender Reveal Party. Whether it's colored centers in a cake, cookies, or candy, you're guests are sure to love the surprise and the treat!

3. Blindfolded Diaper Changing. Get a couple baby dolls and some newborn diapers. Blindfold two guests and have them race each other to see who can put a diaper on a doll the fastest!
4. How big will the mom-to-be's belly be? Have all of your guests cut off a piece of twine or ribbon in the length they think will wrap around the mom-to-be's belly. Then measure the mom-to-be and compare ribbon lengths to see who's ribbon is the closest in length!
